I was curious about the best Settings for the HelioRC FC with BLHeli_32 ESC's, in my case the DALRC ENGINE 40A Blheli_32.
With Dshot1200 on 32k/32k in Butterflight ( 3.5.1 RC8 ) i get a CPU load over 40%, maybe it will work but i didn't try it, so my helio was just running 32k/16k with Dshot1200. I've often heard that DShot loses packages at those high gyro und pid loop frequencys (whatever that means ...) and that multishot would be the better choise. So i've compared my basic setting of 32k/16k DShot1200 with all Blheli32 Settings on Default against 32k/32k Multishot with some changes in BLHeli32.
My Experiences: With the Default Settings on BLHeli32 i didn't use the full power of the BLHeli32 ESC. With BLHeli32 it's possible to run a PWM Frequency of 48khz and also to set the Motor Timing to Auto. With the hihger PWM Frequency i've felt the biggest improvement in flight performance since a long time. The motors run much smoother, the quad feels much better, theres much more throttle control and even the motors won't get warm, the quad came down after my flights as if it hadn't been in the air, the motors were cold.
With the Motor Timing on Auto i didn't notice a big difference but i will stay with this setting now. What's your experiences with these settings?
For this video i just tried to make some similar flights with the different settings, i didn't add any music so that you can listen to the motor sound ;)
