Xbox vs. PC - Sea of Thieves Graphics & Performance

We apply our console benchmarking tools to Sea of Thieves, looking at both graphics quality & performance versus PC (FPS, frametimes).

This Sea of Thieves benchmark on PC & Xbox One X analyzes graphics, performance, frametimes, stutters, and tears for the new Rare game. Sea of Thieves only has a few graphics settings (model detail, lighting detail, shadow detail, texture detail, so forth), but we also equalized Xbox One X and PC graphics quality to see what the Xbox's equivalent graphics settings are on PC. We use different tools from other media outlets (like Digital Foundry and Candy Land), so our results are not necessarily comparable. Our console benchmarking tools were built in-house, and required manual tuning for tear detection, as Sea of Thieves encounters a lot more tears than we're used to on the Xbox One X.
